Re: CSS 11500 cpu

Hi Giles, I know a few spike happened via the network mgmt tool. I've read some of the previous posts on your recomendations via llama and cpu monitor.

Is the more info on the scripting language on the CSS you can point me to? I saw another thread where you talked about making scripts to record cpu. If I could do that it would help me a great deal but need more info to do so.

thanks,

Geo.

Re: CSS 11500 cpu

are the spikes lasting a long time like 10 min ?

Or is short like 1 or 2 min ??

Is it happening during business hours ?

Could it be just high level of traffic during peak times ?

Could it be sb capturing a 'show tech' ?

To capture the cpu info, you need to be in llama/debug mode and load the symbol table.

We do not recommend running with the symbol-table for a long period.

So I'm not sure if you want to have a script collecting the info for you.

If you still want to, you can use the cmd-sched function to have the CSS run a list of commands at specific interval.

All you have to do is copy in a file the list of commands required to get the cpu info.

Load the file via ftp on the css script directory.

Use the cmd-sched to do script play every 5 minutes or so.

Re: CSS 11500 cpu

Is there any document to explain llama utilities and etc...?

Re: CSS 11500 cpu

the llama commands are not supposed to be run except if instructed by a Cisco engineer.

Therefore, they are not documented.

Gilles.
