CSS11100 error message

What's the meaning of following error messages after system boot up ? the system is running V6.10 Build 405

256MB.

-> Volume c: on IDE Disk 0 has 951 MB available

ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 0.

ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 1.

ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 2.

SEP 1 07:42:18 5/1 1 SYSSOFT-3: ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 0.

SEP 1 07:42:18 5/1 2 SYSSOFT-3: ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 1.

this message occurs when the debug epif-errata knob is disabled.

PDB2-Virginia(debug)# epif-errata disable

Issuing this command will reboot the system. Continue, [y/n]:y

Epif errata fix disabled

...........

ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 0.

ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 1.

ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 2.

I'm having the same behavior.

A CSS 11500 series is issuing the messages during boot time:

ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 0.

ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 1.

ONDM: EPIF FIFO size is not standard on epif: 2.

Your answer was "this message occurs when the debug epif-errata knob is disabled"

And the solution is to disable the debug "epif-errata disable".

Is that what you meant or actually the debug is enabled and we have to disable it? ( I can't do a test yet)

the message is cosmetic.

The function "epif-errata [disable|enable|" has quite a big impact on your CSS.

When disable, the CSS performs faster, but the chance that the ethernet module gets stuck and require an automatic reset is high.

When enable, the performance are slightly lower, but no more reset of the ethernet module.

So, do not go playing with this command just because you see a message during boot time.

Make you know what behavior you want before doing anything with this command.

Nowhere I mentioned that the solution was to do this or that.

Do you have a link with any documentation abou this command? I didn't find anything at CCO.
