CSS11500 - specifying which interface to send out snmp traps

Hello

Can some one please explain how I can define which interface to use to send out snmp traps generated on my css. I understand how to set the source IP address in the traps generated by the CSS however I am struggling to get it to send them from the correct interface. In addition can the CSS physically send the traps from its management interface?

Many thanks

As a best practice we should use Loopback interface to send SNMP traps. If CSS supports (ideally it must support) create a Loopback interface & specify that in snmp: snmp-server trap-source Loopback0

there is no loopback on the CSS and you can't specificy the source.

Thanks Giles, does it just pick the source interface at random or is there some logic behind the choice made. (ie lowest vlan number)Thanks
