Differences between One Arm and Route modes?

What are the differences between One Arm and Route modes? Can anyone please explain?

The above shown the definition from Cisco site. Im having difficulty in understanding both definition and the implemention of one arm mode.

Here the VIP is at VLAN 50 and the server are at VLAN 51.. then how it can be one arm? Please help

Hi Krishna,

It's one-arm because the only vlan configured on the ACE is Vlan50. Connections will both arrive and leave on that vlan.

In this example, the servers are in vlan 51 and the MSFC is routing traffic to them, but you could as well put the ACE in vlan 51 instead.

The main difference between one-arm and routed is that, in routed, it will be the ACE routing the traffic between the client and server vlans, not the MSFC.
