DNS not working to nslookup on CSS11155

I have configured a CSS11155 with dns-record command in version 5.02 as a dns server. When I ping a domain address from a client the CSS resolves the name and ping responds as it should. But when I do a nslookup from the same client this fails. Does anyone have any ideas on why this is ?

Were you doing a standard query with NSlookup?

I'm interested in your problem, because we will be doing the same thing on my network shortly.

Speculation: Does the CSS actually have a fully compliant DNS server?

I have implemented a few CSS11000 series switches myself and with some older code revs have seen this problem ocurr intermitently.

Try updating to a newer stable code rev.

The CSS does not run BIND. It has code that specifically addresses it place in the DNS scheme of things and this code is actually upto five times faster tham BNID. If you can, point DNS at the CSS. You will see a performance increase.
