Failaction with server in Standby

Hi All,

We are running the ACE blade (A2.3.4) adn have the following configuration.

A serverfarm configured:

serverfarm host SF-GRG-Logger-7300

  failaction purge

  probe GRG-Logger-7300

  rserver GRG-LOGSRV-01 7300

    backup-rserver GRG-LOGSRV-02 7300

    inservice

  rserver GRG-LOGSRV-02 7300

    inservice standby

When the active server goes down it purges the connections as it should and the standby becomes operational.

The issue we have is when the primary comes back into operation and the active goes back to standby it leaves the connections to the server as active.

Is there anyway to clear these connections?

Thanks in Advance.

Jack.

Hi Jack,

No. As I said, this behavior is by design.

Hi Jack,

What you are describing is the expected behavior. The connections that were already stablished to the stanby server will continue on it to avoid impacting the clients. New connections, however, will be sent to the primary server as usual

If you want to manually clear them, you can use the command "ACE# clear conn rserver "

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your reply.

What I wanted to know is if there was any mechanism to automatically clear these connections once the primary device became active again and the secondary was standby?

Regards.

Jack.
