Hi

i have a CSS 11503 that every now and then locks up and has to be rebooted to get it to work.

what i want to do is get some information about this saved so that when i repower the unit it is still there.

can this be done and if so how?

thanks

So the assumption here is that the CSS is not core dumping to begin with ?

With that said, there is not too much you can do. When you say lock up, do you still have telnet, or do you lose everything like telnet, console, mgt port access ?

As Pete mentioned, you should look for any core files that may have been saved. Also, the CSS logs to disk instead of to memory like a router would, so logs are usually preserved after crashes, reboots etc. You could increase your logging detail, and review the sys and trap logs after the event takes place.
