GSS in redundancy

If there were two GSS available for a single site, what is a better option

1. Deploy the GSS in redundancy

OR

2. Deploy the GSS's independently with two public IPs assigned. And the ISP holds two distinct records for the GSS's i.e. gss1.abc.com (higher priority) and gss2.abc.com (lower priority). If gss1.abc.com doesn't respond, the IP of gss2 is returned to the DNS client query.

Thanks.

With GSS redundancy you create a GSS network with two distinct IPs assigned to each GSS and both GSS IPs are configured at DNS authoritative for domain. The good thing about GSS network is that you dont have to make changes independently, Your DNS rules get replicated to all the GSSs in the GSS network.

So you dont need to manage each GSS independently

Second option would be better.

IP address used to test the online status for the linked VIP. Andsecondary IP address used to query a second Cisco CSS or CSM in a virtual IP (VIP) redundancy and virtual interface redundancy configuration.
