GSS with web authentication

We have share point instances that we site select direct servers (not LB) and would like to probe the main page with support of authentication.

Is this anyway possible to do directly from the GSS or something best suited to front it with a LB. We have aces, just did not feel mandatory as we only have single servers in each sites.

Problem here is that the GSS does not support the authentication piece of the http head probe you want to do. So if you really want to do this you will need to put the server on the ace exposing the vip as an answer on the GSS. You can then load balance to that server and probe it from the ace. Remember ACE will only support basic authentication.
