Actually you should monitor your servers independently.

On the CSS, there is no stats per vip.

The stats are global for the box.

So, monitor the CPU and memory w/ 'sho system-resources'.

Also check your flow stats with the command 'flow stat'.

Verify the number of flow/sec, number of free flows and number of dropped flows.

You could also have an external device opening connection to the vip regularly and measure the response time. See if it changes with time.

Gilles.

Hi Gilles,

How much is too much? :-)

We are monitoring parameters like flows/second and active local connections but I have been looking at parameters telling us how far we can go before seeing performance decrease.

We are terminating SSL on the CSS and if about 800 SSL sessions per seconds per SSL module is the limit, what would be a good parameter to watch?

I couldn't find anything in the MIBS that tell us how many SSL sessions/sec are served.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

Thanks,

Fabrice
