IOS SLB vs CSS vs CSM

Hi, I am quite new to the Server Load Balancing and have been asked to set it up for two web servers. I currently have two 6509's with Sup-720's doing the switching and am trying to determine for these two servers should I just do the load balancing in Software on IOS, put in an additional hop with two CSS11500's or fork out for a CSM for each 6509? I am looking at 150 concurrent connections max at any one time. I will need to run http probes also to ensure the servers are responsive. What is the recommended solution if any?

Cheers

Brian

Re: IOS SLB vs CSS vs CSM

The limitations of IOS SLB are

It doesn't support Layer 7 information based load balancing.

It doesnt support cookie based or HTTP header based (only supports Source Ip based) persistence.

It doesnt support HTTPS, LDAP, POP, TFTP or scripted health probes.

It doesnt support HTTP Header Inserts.

It doesnt support URL, cookie, HTTP header parsing.

It doesnt support HTTP Redirects.

So If you dont need any of the above features then you can use IOS SLB.
