Layer 5 load balancing over bridged interface

Hello, I have been posed a question by a SAP application team - they wish to load balance from a SAP application server, targeting URLs.

The SAP server will target URLs, resolving to the CSS - the CSS must then load balance these requests across other boxes in the same subnet as the application server.

Question is, can i do this over a bridged interface?

So the application server talks to the CSS in one interface, and the CSS connects to the load balanced servers on another interface, and these two be bridged together to maintain the same broadcast domain?

Any help appreciated.

you can do this over a bridged interface.

It is the best solution.

The other solution, if the servers are in the same subnet on the same CSS interface, is to use source-group to nat the client ip address when traffic is forwarded to the server.

Gilles.
