Load balancing WAN links with CSS

The CSS can be used to load balance at Layer 3. In this case can be load balance WAN links between different ISP's

loadbalancing traffic to ixp can be done with routers.

The CSS would not be the recommended device for such requirement.

Thanks for the reply.

With the router when I load balance between 2 ISP's and require failover as well, I need BGP. However incase I use the CSS can I do it with out using BGP. Although it is not recommended it should be possible right?

Also it should be able to substitute deployments such as HSRP or MHSRP as it could choose the appropriate router based on the availability and load. If this is possible what kind of keep alives can I use.

simply forget the option of the a CSS.

How are you going to match traffic in a content rule ?

You have to specify an ip address or a port/protocol to catch.

So what ip are you going to use ?

There is no ANY ip address.

There is no mask.

Are you going to enter a rule for each port ?

So, this is not possible.

Even if you could do it, you would only control outgoing traffic.

What about incoming ?

You still need BGP to control incoming traffic.
