NBAR and the CAT6509

Is NBAR a viable tool when attempting to catalog traffic traversing my 6509 based infrastructure? If so, what is needed and how is it accomplished?

NBAR is not going to be robust enough to accomplish what you are trying to do. This sort of cataloging is normally done with the use of SNMP and an NMS.

Thanks for the response. You've stated that a combination of SNMP and NMS would do the trick. Can you point me to any documentation that explains the methodology?

Take a look at Cisco Works and HPOV. I would think your Cisco rep could demo it for you or at least get you the details you need.
