new to css. http/vlan question

Hi,

Have a pair of 11503s. Cannot get a response for http requests from a server in the content vlan to another server in the same vlan via the vip. Am getting a response for requests to the Real Ip address of the server. Just not from the VIP.

All pings etc are being replied to.

Requests coming from any vlan outside the css to either the physical IP or the vrrp ip are being replied to.

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

this is, because your Destination Server will reply to your requesting Server directly, and Traffic will not pass the CSS. This does not work, because the Server will response with hiw onw IP Adress, not with the VIP.

There are 3 Solutions,

1) patch the Servers direcly on the CSS, so any traffic will pass the CSS

2) Put the Server in different Subnets, so that CSS is the defaultrouter for both.

3) configure a Sourcegoupe

groupe server-to-server

vip address

add destination server server_A

add destination server server_B

active

So on methond 3, any request to the server_A and server_B will have the configured vip ip as source-ip
