NTP not working on the SSL Daughter Card

Hello,

We are having an issue with NTP with the CSM SSL module (CSM-S). If we set our management router as the ntp server on the SSL daughter card, after a while it becomes unsynchronized.

If I set up the server it initially looks like this on the daughter card:

ddbusxl916(config)#ntp server 10.2.69.1 prefer

ddbusxl916(config)#^Z

ddbusxl916#sh run | include ntp

ntp server 10.2.69.1 prefer

ddbusxl916#sh ntp status

Clock is synchronized, stratum 4, reference is 10.2.69.1

nominal freq is 250.0000 Hz, actual freq is 250.0000 Hz, precision is 2**24

reference time is C8D48C72.3DB84313 (08:53:06.241 UTC Mon Oct 9 2006)

clock offset is -0.0056 msec, root delay is 258.48 msec

root dispersion is 16281.88 msec, peer dispersion is 15875.02 msec

It also shows that the device is synced with master:

ddbusxl916#sh ntp associations

address ref clock st when poll reach delay offset disp

*~10.2.69.1 10.244.15.1 3 0 64 377 1.0 0.16 0.1

* master (synced), # master (unsynced), + selected, - candidate, ~ configured

Now after a couple of minutes if I look again I see:

ddbusxl916#sh ntp stat

Clock is unsynchronized, stratum 16, no reference clock

nominal freq is 250.0000 Hz, actual freq is 250.0000 Hz, precision is 2**24

reference time is C8D49200.DC73366F (09:16:48.861 UTC Mon Oct 9 2006)

clock offset is -612.3787 msec, root delay is 614.12 msec

root dispersion is 16527.33 msec, peer dispersion is 16000.00 msec

Although the router 10.2.69.1 is still set up as the master but no more synced:

ddbusxl916#sh ntp associations

address ref clock st when poll reach delay offset disp

~10.2.69.1 10.244.15.1 3 46 64 0 1.1 -619.9 16000.

* master (synced), # master (unsynced), + selected, - candidate, ~ configured

Thanks in advance for any information you would like to share.

Cheers,

Murtaza
