Re: [SCM]:InsufficientFreeMemory; please help

That looks like a snmp monitoring device reporting a problem with SCM low on memory.

You should check on the CSS itself, with the command "sho system-resources" and 'flow stat'

Re: [SCM]:InsufficientFreeMemory; please help

Hi Giles,

Thanks for your reply for the system resources looks okay its obviously something we need to look at when the event happens.

When we do the flow stat command

this is the output;

----------------------------------------------------

AGGREGATE FLOW STATISTICS PER-SP

----------------------------------------------------

Flow Manager Statistics - Slot 1, Subslot 1:

Cur High Avg

UDP Flows per second 0 1 0

TCP Flows per second 6 92 3

Total Flows per second 6 92 3

Hits per second 3 55 2

Number of Allocated Flows (non-purged) 890

Number of Free Flows 64646

Number of Allocated fast-path FCBs 673

Number of Free fast-path FCBs 64863

Flow Manager Statistics - Slot 2, Subslot 1:

Cur High Avg

UDP Flows per second 0 3 0

TCP Flows per second 12 162 7

Total Flows per second 12 162 7

Hits per second 7 92 4

Number of Allocated Flows (non-purged) 1614

Number of Free Flows 125970

Number of Allocated fast-path FCBs 1247

Number of Free fast-path FCBs 129826

----------------------------------------------------

AGGREGATE FLOW STATISTICS PER-PORT

----------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------

Port Active Total TCP UDP

----------------------------------------------------

# 1/1 1920 253613467 1920 0

# 1/2 0 305 0 0

why is 1/1 heavy used and not 1/2? can you explain why this would be?

Re: [SCM]:InsufficientFreeMemory; please help

this info just indicates on which interface traffic is coming in.

You can check the total flow per/sec for each slot.

That's how the traffic is distributed between the modules.

Gilles.
