I have servers in three vlans all configured on a pair of 6509 with CSMs. I would like to set the CSMs in routed mode and have a client VLAN for users to access a VIP for the web servers. The web servers (say in vlan 10) would connect with an application server VIP, the application servers would be in VLAN 20, those servers will have a VIP to connect to a set of DB servers in VLAN 30.
Question is this, do I set up a client side VLAN for the application and DB servers? These servers will only be accessed by the other servers and not by the general user population. I am thinking I need 3 client side VLANS (11, 21 and 31) on the outside of the CSM. What routing issues would this create?
TIA

you don't need more than 1 client vlan.
The server can open connection to VIP even from a server vlan.
The type of the vlan has actually very little impact.
