i have a 6506 with 2 sup engines WS-X6K-S2-MSFC2=...can i do slb without adding any hardware?

IOS SLB does not require any additionnal hardware.
You just need to run native (IOS for cat6k) version 12.1(11)E or above.
IOS SLB is also supported on some routers like the 7200.
