Support for WCCP

A customer was asking whether or not they should use WCCP. First, I wanted to check to see how long Cisco plans to support it? Is it going away ant time soon?

it will never go away.

This is the basis of transparent caching.

In addition, I have confirmed with a WCCP developer and he states:

"WCCP is definitely not going away. In fact we are currently working on enhancements to increase the number of services supported simultaneously from 8 to 256."

You can be confident that the protocol will be around for a very long time.
