Diagram:

cisco2501A--CSS11150--Catalyst4006--Cisco2501B

Syptoms:

When I was trying to download image form Cisco2501B to Cisco2501B, a message displayed:Accessing file 'c2500-i-l.112-9' on 100.l1.1.1...

Loading c2500-i-l.112-9 ... [timed out]

[failed]

Then I connected cisco2501A to Catalyst4006, download worked well.

Backgroud:

I have actually removed all the acls and disabled acl. Cisco2501A and Cisco2501B in different segment but can ping each other. There is no ACL on each router.

Advice will be greatly appreciated.

TFTP doesn’t allow any room for error. It’s UDP. The server should always be on the same segment in my opinion.
