Traffic from one server of server farm to VIP

I have 2 servers, 172.16.0.1/24 and 172.16.0.2/24 and one VIP 172.16.0.3/24. Can one server 172.16.0.1 or 172.16.0.2 access VIP 172.16.0.3?

yes, but client nat is absolutely required in this case to make sure the response does go back to the loadbalancer first and not directly the the server that opened the connection.
