What is the slot0: device on the cat6000 MSFC ?

what is the slot0: device on the MSFC used for? I can use the bootflash: device but there is no success operation with the slot0:

You need to reference sup-slot0:.

The slot0: is nothing but the external PCMCIA memory card connected to the switch. So if you have external PCMCIA card inserted in the Switch, only then you can see the result with slot0:

The above solution is based on the assumption that you are native IOS on the switch. In Hybrid mode one cannot access the slot0:
