Why does RHI requires no ip proxy-arp ?

Does anybody know why Cisco recommends using no Ip Proxy arp for the switch VLAN interfaces when using RHI on the CSM ?

Actually the only reason would be if the MSFC, CSM and clients share a vlan.

If a client sends an ARP request for the VIP, the MSFC would respond to this arp request if configured with proxy-arp.

Other than that, there is no specific reason for not using proxy-arp.

Regards,

Gilles.
