Will ACE upgrade from 8 to 16Gb work in ACE10?

Cisco's description of the ACE-UPG2-LIC and the the release notes state that only the ACE20 can be upgraded from the 8Gb license to 16Gb. Is this accurate?

There is a post in this forum from Sep, 2007 that states the ACE10 and ACE20 are the same hardware and that the ACE10 can be upgraded to the 16Gb license.

If it can be upgraded, please point me to something from Cisco that confirm this.

If it can't be upgraded, do I have to pay the full $100K 16Gb license to get an ACE20 or can I buy the upgrade and have it come with an ACE20?

Thanks for any help on this!

Officially the ACE10 can't be upgraded to a 16G license and you should really contact your local vendor to see what you can do change your HW.

However, in some very specific conditions, you could upgrade the ACE10 to use a 16G license.

But we do not recommend it anymore and don't support it.

Gilles.
