Cisco Phone Adapter SPA2102 - not connecting after cellular failover
I use RingCentral VoIP service and they sell Cisco phone adapters (SPA2102 and newer) for analog phones to work with our VoIP system. We have 20+ of these SPA2102 devices in our company.
We seem to have issues with the SPA2102 when our primary internet goes offline. Our firewalls have cellular failover so when the primary ISP drops connection, the firewall takes about 30 seconds to switch to the cellular backup internet source. Once the firewall has switched over, the SPA2102 does not automatically reconnect to the RingCentral service. We have to power cycle the SPA2102 and wait a few minutes before it reconnects to the service providing us with a dial tone. If we don't power cycle the SPA2102 then it never reconnects - even after several hours.
I have 2 questions:
First, are there settings in the SPA2102 that we can tweak that will force the SPA2102 to refresh and reconnect if it detects it no longer has an internet connection? We've tried adjusting the "Resync Periodic" value and a couple of other default values but nothing seems to work.
Second, if the SPA2102 cannot handle this type of automatic re-connection, is there a new model of this phone adapter that can do this correctly? If so, what is the model number?
