not able to dial modems through pap2t

I am trying to be able to dial modems with my VoIP line and was wondering if anyone has this working and could share the config with me for this. Right now the modem will andswer but it all falls apart during the inital handshake and the call will drop after about 10- 10 sec of bad sounding handshaking.

not able to dial modems through pap2t

There are two ways to handle a modem: a toggle code or a NSE event.

1) Modem and Fax Pass-Through

Modem pass-through mode can be triggered only by predialing the

number set in the Modem Line Toggle Code.

• FAX pass-through mode is triggered by a CED/CNG tone or an NSE event.

• Echo canceller is automatically disabled for Modem pass-through mode.

• Echo canceller is disabled for FAX pass-through if the parameter FAX

Disable ECAN (Line 1 or 2 tab) is set to “yes” for that line (in that case FAX

pass-through is the same as Modem pass-through).

• Call waiting and silence suppression is automatically disabled for both

FAX and Modem pass-through. In addition, out-of-band DTMF Tx is

disabled during modem or fax pass-through.

Modem Line Toggle Code (only for outbound calls).

Toggles the line to a modem.

The default is *99. Modem pass-through mode can be triggered only by predialing this code.

2) The PAP can understand also non standard NSE cisco RTP Event:

If you are using a Cisco media gateway for PSTN termination, enable modem passthrough.

For example:

modem passthrough nse payload-type 100 codec g711ulaw

fax rate disable

fax protocol pass-through g711ulaw

Regards.

Re: not able to dial modems through pap2t

thank you very much this worked for me, i was not using the *99 for the modem thru dial.....it does take alittle bit longer for the 2 modems to connect up but it does and that is all that matters.
