SPA compatibility with Cisco's voice product line

Anyone have a good feel for the SPA product line's fit and compatibility within the "enterprise" Cisco portfolio?

Occassionally come up against design requirements for a low-cost option to terminate a few carrier analog trunks for backup/911 calling in a facility that has chosen to consolidate all other PSTN access to a centralized location/data center.  The stock answer is to equip the ISR WAN router onsite with FXO line cards, but in certain situations that isn't always an option.  And dedicated ISR just to host a few (typically 2-4) analog lines is somewhat expensive.

Seems like the SPA8800 might be a good option to consider, but I don't see Cisco talking much about interop within their other product lines.

Re: SPA compatibility with Cisco's voice product line

Dear Fred;

As you comment, SPA products as being designed and marketed for Small Business, do not have any official interoperability with Cisco enterprise products, which means products are not supported with enterprise solutions. Having said that, SPA products are 100% SIP compliant, which means you can connect it to any SIP device and run standard SIP features (registration, authentication, call setup, transfer, conferencing, call forward). These features will work with any Cisco enterprise SIP device which is open to third party devices, having in mind the "solution" is not supported by Cisco and any advanced feature will not work.

Alberto
