SPA2102 from time to time enter in locked state

I have about 100 spa2102 installed and some of these, after some time (from few days to a couple of month) and always the same (at differents time), they enter in a locked state. The customer with the locked ATA cannot do outbound calls, when he calls, he doesn't hear the peer or the call is dropped. However, in most of the case, the ATA can receive incoming calls.

Anyway, every time I need to reset to factory these blocked ATAs.

It could be an hardware issue or security issue?

I've more than 4000 SPA2102 installed without this problem.

What firmware version do you use?

Do you have protected the SPA from SIP attacks?

Do you have enable the option "Restrict Source IP" under line menu?

Do you use 5060 standard port?

Can you enable the syslog and post the report?

Regards.

Hi Daniele,

not yet ... in production environment!

The first step in the troubleshooting was assume a security issue.

So yerstaday I've deployed the new configuration with the "Restrict Source IP"  set to yes and with the change of the signaling port to a non standard value.

In a couple of days the new settings will be in production.

So you too think that could be a security issue?

I noticed that the SPA2102 heats up significantly!

But your experience with 4000 devices "docet", so will very likely a security issue!

Fine, for those unit with this problem I'll enable the syslog for future post in the case the problem will come back.

Thnx for your very usefull reply.

I'll update as soon as possible this discussion.

Have a nice week-end and "Buona Epifania".

So long.
