WRP400:VOICE:SIP:LYNC2010

Any one has tried to configure the WRP400 to using its FXS ports as SIP phone, with Microsoft Lync 2010 server?

Been trying to configure the WRP400 Line 1, got only failed registration, unable to get registered to the lync server thru sip (both under TCP and TLS)

During the registration attempt by the WRP 400, the analog phone attached did receive a ring, but after that it failed registration.

Anyone with more information or ideas are welcome and appreciated.

Re: WRP400:VOICE:SIP:LYNC2010

We need the full sip debug log.

In the ext/line tab, you would go to SIP settings, SIP debug option and set that to full.

In the system tab, make sure that debug level is set to 3.

The previous link https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9862

has links to the various models on how to set.

If the unit falis to register to the sip proxy, check the debug log to see why it's getting rejected.

Re: WRP400:VOICE:SIP:LYNC2010

Hi nseto,

I have again reconfigure everything. The WRP400 is set to only look at port 5060, and the same I set in the lync server. More over the topology now points to only the WRP400. In my DNS I have also include the DNS SVR records for both devices for siptcp:5060

After some creative configuration, the lync server does not report any issues in contact the ATA gateway (WRP400).

I am unable to attached the file. Please accept my apologies in this post.

What I now see is the sip NOTIFY and REGISTER. But it still fail to register the device to lync.

If you could, help me understand which sequence fail to respond and which device fail to register.

Re: WRP400:VOICE:SIP:LYNC2010

The register and notify from the unit shows the ip address as 0.0.0.0.  This needs to be corrected.  Is the unit supposed to be using DHCP?  It's not getting ip address?

Re: WRP400:VOICE:SIP:LYNC2010

Hi nseto,

In fact all devices are static ip. Sorry but I am not exactly as technically savvy, is that extraction for 0.0.0.0 ip address coming from the lync server or the WRP? If it's from the WRP, where do i set that device IP? I thought the wireless router had already an assignment, oris it a special field in the voice configuration side?

Thanks in advance.

Re: WRP400:VOICE:SIP:LYNC2010

From the register and notify, it shows

The ip address config should be in the setup menu.

Re: WRP400:VOICE:SIP:LYNC2010

Hi nseto,

Sorry, where would that be the setup?

Thanks

Re: WRP400:VOICE:SIP:LYNC2010

Hi nseto,

I was unable to locate where to change that 0.0.0.0 ip address, is there a configuration tool?

I dont understand how to you the WRP400 SPC tool, is there a documentation which teaches me to use it?

Regards

Darrell Tam

However it does not change the outcome for registeration( which still fails) for the ATA (WRP400) to the Lync Server, I seen that the Lync had stop having issues of not seeing the ATA Gateway, and the log show the challenge for invite to the ATA Gateway.

Please advice.

Re: WRP400:VOICE:SIP:LYNC2010

It looks like the 0.0.0.0 is the issue.  Force a static ip address in the wrp400 if it can't get an dhcp address.  If you don't know how to do this, you'll need to contact the support center for assistance.  Reference http://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_cisco_small_business_support_center_contacts.html

Thank you.

Re: WRP400:VOICE:SIP:LYNC2010

Hi nseto,

Thanks for the assistance earlier. Just to update you.

The earlier 0.0.0.0 IP was without an external WAN connection. if you connected without NAT Mapping in the Voice Admin, you wil get the External WAN IP address. If you connected to your WAN with NAT (VOICE), it will assume the IP address of the Router.

Now, I have come to almost wit's end on the WRP400

I finally able to configure all the components in the Lync Server to basic take the WRP400 as ATA gatgeway, however I keep getting the server responding that the WRP400 is not hailing back an SIP OPTIONS response.

I am attaching the newest logs which do show the SIP messages going from WRP 400 to Lync, and when Lync ask for SIP OPTION, the WRP400 does not respond.

Note I have also gotten the WRP400 to trigger NOTIFICATION and the LYNC Server sees that SIP Message, moreover I had already turn off "REFER" from the Server based on some document highlighting the LYNC and CISCO UC conditions.

Do you have any ideas why the device does not response to the OPTIONS?

Thanks in advance.
