What is the difference between C6509 and C6509-E chassi?

Hi,

The 6509 is end of sale:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/ps711/index.html

It could only support a maximum of a 4000W power supply.

The 6509E supports in excess of 6000W power supplies.

It also supports the newer technology such as the Sup 2T and the ASA blades.

Don't forget to rate helpful posts.

As Sean has noted, one of the features that -E chassis supports is newer technology blades, i.e. the -E supports up to 80 Gbps per slot, including all the slots of a 6513-E.

In Addition to the Switching Capacity and BW per Slot, Power Supply,  Note, You Cant run the VSS Feature on the Normal 6000 Series Chasis. You should have the E Series of the Catalyst 6000 Chasis.

Mohamed
