What is this number CSCee , CSCec ?

Hi,

My question might seem silly but I have always wondered what those numbers like CSCec18878, CSCec55381 on many of the Cisco documents mean?

Are they some bug IDs or ID for a particular feature in IOS or...?

Thanks in advance!

What is this number CSCee , CSCec ?

Each change to a code base managed in the Cisco Defect and Enhancement Tracking System (CDETS) is assigned a unique identifier for tracking and management purposes.  Each of these numbers represents a specific change in code and the ones published in printed documents usually mark a feature addition or a bug fix.  Given one of these ID numbers, you can use Bug Toolkit or Bug Navigator to understand what the bug fix was and which versions of code have the bug and which have the fix.

Codebases managed in CDETS include but are not limited to IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NX-OS, ASA, and UCS, as well as the various network management platforms and Unified Communications platforms.
