Recommendations after CCNA?

I just wanted to get a little advice from everyone on where to go after the CCNA? I just recently obtained my certification after 9 long months of studying/working on the equipment and I want to get straight into the networking world in some way. Right now I have a year of IT Computer support experience doing an internship for a corporation, but It's not really focusing on networking (just graduated High School). Should I become familiar with more technologies? What paths did you take to get to the networking job where you are at now?

Go DIRECTLY into CCNP,  ccna it's the base of everything , but it wont open any door..

Do it right..

You cannot get CCNP without valid CCNA or CCIE.

CCNP Prerequisites

Valid

CCNA

certification or any CCIE Certification can act as a prerequisite

from

http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le37/le10/learning_certification_type_home.html

so even though you can pass all the tests you will not be certified without active CCNA.

Re: Recommendations after CCNA?

Hi there.

I would look at either CCNA Security or CCNA Voice.

But the biggest piece of advice I can give is make sure you know the CCNA backwards and inside out.

Buy a couple of routers and switches for home and practice practice practice, if you can't get any routers etc download a copy of GNS3 http://www.gns3.net/ and creat some networks and practice practice practice.

Did I mention that you need to practice?

Build a strong foundation before moving on to higher cents like the CCNP etc.
