Hi Jose,

If you have an Apple IOS 7 device and the application yes it should work fine with an SX20 locally even without being in a call as long as you display a presentation.

I recommend you read the FAQ page here https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/12159326/frequently-asked-questions-cisco-proximity if you run into problems.

Here are the requirements to get it up and running (from the FAQ):

What are the requirements for Cisco Proximity to work with the endpoint?

In order for the Cisco Proximity to work with the endpoint you have to enable BYOD mode on the endpoint.

xConfiguration Experimental Byod Mode: On
xConfiguration NetworkServices HTTPS Mode: On

This will make the unit generate the ultrasound for pairing and open up for HTTPS communication. This also means that the device running the Cisco Proximity app must be on a network where it can reach the endpoint on HTTPS in order make it work.

Make sure the endpoint are using speakers. The pairing will not work if headphones are connected to the audio output. The speakers must also be capable of generating a 22Khz tone.

Regards

John

Hi Jose,

The Cisco Proximity app requires a Cisco endpoint that supports intelligent proximity (MX200 G2, MX300 G2, MX700, MX800, SX10, SX20 and SX80).

okay, local use cisco, but what about to remote? can use another

Hi Jose,

The far end would also need to be a Cisco endpoint with intelligent proximity to use the Cisco proximity app remotely.  The application relies on ultrasound from a Cisco endpoint in order to pair (and wifi access with connectivity to the codec) and display content or offer call control.

John

Hi John,

Thanks for everything

If i use my sx20 only for local presentation, these device would function?

Hi John,

we have a mx300 g2 which is connected to the proximity app on an iPad.

When an EX90 calls the mx300 g2 an shares content to the mx300 g2 it is not shown on the tablet.   Is this behavior caused by the unsupported EX90?
