After an upgrade to Cisco MeetingPlace Outlook 5.3, the meeting notifications are sent in plain text

Core Issue

After upgrading to MeetingPlace Outlook 5.3, the meeting notifications are sent in plain text instead of Rich Text Format (.rtf). This occurs because there are two MeetingPlace Outlook gateways connected to the same mailbox (4) on the conference server. This is an unsupported configuration. The older MeetingPlace Outlook Gateway version 4.2.7, which does not support .rtf, is connecting to the Post Office first and then sending the notification.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, the older Cisco MeetingPlace for Outlook gateway needs to be moved to a different mailbox on the conference server so that two gateways do not compete. You can also disable the MeetingPlace Outlook and MeetingPlace Notify services in the older 4.2.7 MeetingPlace for Outlook gateway, which allows the new 5.3 release to process notifications for the MeetingPlace Web and Cisco MeetingTime scheduled meetings.

For more information, refer to the About Customizing the Notifications for Meetings Scheduled Using Cisco MeetingPlace for Outlook section of Customizing Text-Based Meeting Notifications.
