An upgrade to Cisco CallManager 3.3 fails, and the InstallShield Wizard displays the "InstallShield Wizard Complete - wizard was interrupted before CallManager could be completly installed - system not modified" error message

Core Issue

Upgrading the Cisco CallManager from version 3.2 to 3.3 using the InstallShield Wizard ends abruptly when the INSTALL button is clicked and this error message is displayed:

InstallShield Wizard Complete - wizard was interrupted before CallManager

could be completly installed - system not modified

The Event Viewer Application log displays "Information Type Message" from "Source - MsiInstaller" (CCM INSTALLATION OP FAILED).

With this error, the wizard abruptly ends without completing the Cisco CallManager installation.

Resolution

This is discussed in Cisco bug ID CSCdy17885. This occurs due to a wrong file name in the STI_DATA partition.

To resolve this issue, perform these steps:

  1. Find the file named stiRecover.flg within the root of STI_DATA partition.        
  2. Rename the file stiRecovery.flg.        
  3. Re-install the Cisco CallManager software.
