Extension Mobility does not work after an upgrade to Cisco CallManager 4.0 (2) from 3.3 (3)sr4a and user receives the "Login Unsuccessful Error 101" error message

Core Issue

This error is displayed on the Phone Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) when the user presses the Service key on the phone and selects the Extension Mobility (EM) login URL.

Note: This error occurs even before the prompt to enter the user ID and Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Resolution

This issue is documented in Cisco bug ID CSCeb34604.

To resolve this issue, choose one of these options:

  • For the Data Connection (DC) Directory, set the EM service URL in the directory:
    1. On the server, log in to the DC Directory Administrator.
    2. Navigate to Directory/cisco.com/CCN/systemProfile.
    3. Open HotelingProfile.
    4. Modify the profile by setting the URL to http://<server>/emservice/EMServiceServlet.
    5. Click OK.
    6. Close the DC Directory Administrator.
  • For the Active Directory (AD), use ADSIEdit to set the EM service URL in the directory, as shown in these steps:
    1. Navigate to ou=cisco, ou=CCN, ou=systemProfile.
    2. Right click HotelingProfile.
    3. Set the URL to http://<server>/emservice/EMServiceServlet.
