How to change the license from Cisco CallManager Express to Cisco CallManager with Cisco Unity Express 2.1.x

Resolution

To change the license from Cisco CallManager Express to Cisco CallManager with Cisco Unity Express 2.1.x, perform these steps:

  1. Perform a backup before the license upgrade.

  2. Type write memory.

  3. Make sure you have the cue-vm-license_xxxmbx_ccm_2.1.3.pkg. license file.

  4. Put the file on a FTP server.

  5. From the Cisco Unity Express console, type software install clean url.
    (ftp ://ftp_server_ip_address/path/cue-vm-license_xxmbx_ccm_2.1.3.pkg url username password).

  6. After the license is installed, reload Cisco Unity Express.

  7. Check if you have the right license, as shown:

    show software license
    se-10-89-239-43# sh software license
    Core:
    - Application mode: CCM -----------> make sure that shows CCM not CME
    - Total usable system ports: 8

    Voicemail/Auto Attendant:
    - Max system mailbox capacity time: 6000
    - Default # of general delivery mailboxes: 20
    - Default # of personal mailboxes: 100
    - Max # of configurable mailboxes: 120

    Languages:
    - Max installed languages: 1
    - Max enabled languages: 1
