How to Change Unity Connection prompts in order to match Octel Voice Mail

Resolution

In order to match the Cisco Unity Connection prompts, you need to modify the template:

  1. When you create a new user, you must assign them a template.

    This is under User > User Template.


  2. If you click on the User Template you use for new users, there is an edit
    option.  You want to edit this template.

    Choose Edit > Phone Menu.

  3. In the Phone Menu page, choose Conversation Style.

  4. In the drop-down menu, choose the conversation you want to use.  In order to see what the right one is for a working user, go to the user and edit Phone Menu.  See what style is used , for example, most likely Optional Conversation 1.  If this is it, change this for your template and then all the new users created with this template have this conversation.
