How to create a translation pattern on Cisco CallManager that acts differently on the called number depending on the calling number

Core Issue

The objective is to build a translation pattern that is able to modify the called number depending on the calling number, as shown in the following example:

  1. 1xxx calls 9999 resulting in 9999 being translated to 99972xxx
  2. 99972xxx calls 9999 resulting in 9999 being translated to 9998

Resolution

To achieve this objective, perform the following steps:

  1. Create two partitions.
  2. Put one translation pattern in the first, the other in the second partition.
  3. 1XXX should have a calling search space with access to the first partition, and 2XXX should have a calling search space with access to the second partition.
  4. Make sure that 1XXX does not have access to the second partition nor that 2XXX has access to the first partition.
