Core Issue

The particular port that receives a call from a device and initializes the failover to the secondary server can be seen from the application log on the secondary server. This is an example of the error that appears in the application log:

Resolution

In order to avoid this issue, move all voicemail ports for the secondary Cisco Unity server to the partition. This way, only the Voicemail Hunt Pilot and Hunt List can initiate direct calls to these ports.

Refer to Configuring Cisco Unity Failover for more information on Cisco Unity Failover.

Transferred to FailSafe conversation while running conversation PHTransfer on Port 1. See the following file for the contents of the Named Properties : D:\CommServer\Logs\\NPDump_20060718_212013.txt

For more information, click: http://www.CiscoUnitySupport.com/find.php

The Line Group for the secondary server generally sends calls Top Down, therefore if the call comes to the server through the Line Group, it hits the first port.

The ports for the secondary Cisco Unity server are all in one partition. This is the same partition that the Voicemail Pilot uses and any device with access to voicemail can reach it.

If that partition is already used for the ports of the primary Cisco Unity server, other devices cannot reach it.

Also, if the ports for the secondary Cisco Unity server are all in the partition that the Voicemail Pilot uses, any device with access to voicemail can reach it.
