Inbound and outbound calls fail with the %IPM_DSPRM-3-ERROR_NO_DSP_RESOURCES:Insufficient DSP resources to run voice channel error message

Resolution

To overcome this issue, perform these steps on the router:

  1. Verify that the proper Digital Signal Processor (DSP) resources are available on the router. Refer to Users cannot configure the PRI-group and "% No DSP resources available to configure pri-group on controller E1 or the No DSP resources available to configure pri-group on controller T1" error message is received. You must have have free DSPs to support the current or new configurations on the router.    
  2. The DSP errors also occur because of incompatible Cisco IOS  Software images on the router. To select your platform and the latest compatible Cisco IOS Software image, refer to. Cisco IOS Upgrade Planner
  3. Reload or power cycle the router.
