Jabber not pulling contact images from web source

TITLE

Jabber not pulling Contact images from directory

SYMPTOMS

Cisco Jabber is not displaying any images/photos for my contacts

ENVIRONMENT

Cisco Jabber 9.0 using EDI directory integration with Contact images stored in on a webserver

CAUSES

Global Configuration file is not updated with proper settings

RESOLUTION

  1. Download Global Configuration file (jabber-config.xml) from the TFTP Server
  2. Verify the Directory settings reflect your environment, example:
    <Directory>
      <DirectoryServerType>EDI</DirectoryServerType>
      <PhotoUriSubsitutionEnabled>true</PhotoUriSubsitutionEnabled>
      <PhotoUriSubstitutionToken>sAMAccountName</PhotoUriSubstitutionToken>
      <PhotoUriWithToken>http://staffphoto.example.local/sAMAccountNAme.jpg</PhotoUriWithToken>
    </Directory>
    • PhotoUriSubsitutionToken is the directory attribute to insert into the photo URI
    • PhotoUriWithToken specifies the URI where the Contact images are stored
  3. Upload the Global Configuration file to the TFTP server
  4. Restart the TFTP server and verify the Directory setting
  5. Restart Cisco Jabber

Hi all,

We have recently upgraded to Jabber 8.6.4.12900-2 and would like to get the photos working.  Currently all my photos have the naming convention of:

Surname_Given Name

How would modify the config file to accomodate this naming convention.

Thanks in advance
