No e-mail notification for the HP server when a drive failure occurs on Cisco CallManager

Core Issue

An HP service failure can cause Cisco CallManager to not send email alerts about drive failures.

Resolution

Verify if the server can send SMTP. In order to do this, complete these steps:

  1. Go to a command prompt.

  2. Telnet to the mail server on port 25.

  3. Manually enter an e-mail that comes from the configured e-mail address.

In order to fix this, backup and then restart all HP services.
