Tech Tip: Converting Unity 4.x Licenses to Unity Connection 8.x

Hi All,

As described on the document below:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/8x/administration/guide/8xcucsag310.html#wp1071332

"Cisco Unity Connection can use Cisco Unity license files to enable Cisco Unity Connection features when migrating
from Cisco Unity 4.x or later to Cisco Unity Connection."

So this means that you can use the same license, you just need to copy them from the Unity Server. They can be
found at:

\Commserver\Licenses

You can import these file into your Unity Connection server once installed. If you are using the same hardware for
Connection server then nothing further would need to be done.

If you are changing hardware you will first need to contact Cisco Licensing to have the MAC address on the license
changed to the new MAC address of new server. Just send an e-mail including the new MAC address to:

licensing@cisco.com
