The Cisco CallManager installation on the subscriber stops responding with the Installing DC Directory message

Core Issue

During the Cisco CallManager installation on the subscriber, after the base OS installation, the Cisco CallManager installation stops responding with a Installing DC Directory message. However, the subscriber is able to ping the publisher's IP address.

Resolution

This issue can arise if the publisher's name is not resolved. Ensure that you do the installation by specifying the IP address of the publisher rather than the hostname. If the hostname is used, ensure that the name can be resolved either by a Domain Name System (DNS) server, or a mapping for the hostname to the IP address is available locally in the LMHOSTS file.
