The Cisco Conference Connection does not prompt callers for a meeting password although the meeting is configured to require a password

Core Issue

The Cisco Conference Connection (CCC) skips the prompt for a meeting password, even though it is mandatory. This is due to Cisco bug ID CSCed26475.

Resolution

There is no workaround for this issue. But, this issue can be resolved with a software patch.

Open a case with Cisco Technical Support with the TAC Service Request Tool in order to obtain the patch and instructions for how to apply the patch. Or, consult the TAC support contacts.

After the new script/fix is obtained, complete these steps on the CCC server:

  1. Choose C:\Program files\wfavvid and locate the conference.aef file.

  2. Rename the file to conference-orig.aef.

  3. Extract and save the attached file to the same folder.

  4. In the same folder, locate AppsRepositoryAdmin.exe. Double-click
    it.

  5. Wait about 10 seconds. Then, on the GUI window that appears, click
    upload.

  6. In the browse window, locate the new Conference.aef file, and select it.

  7. Click open.

  8. A prompt appears about script replacement. Choose yes.

  9. Click exit in order to close the repository admin.

On the appadmin website, complete these steps:

  1. Choose Engine.

  2. Click Refresh scripts on the left side.

  3. Click Refresh on the right side.

Make test calls in order to check the password functionality.

If the original file must be replaced, complete these steps:

  1. Replace the original aef file. In order to do this, rename it back to conference.aef in
    the wfavvid folder.

  2. Then, repeat these steps, both on the CCC server and appadmin website.
