Thoughts on Staging the Solution

Staging is the time when you install, configure and test the Cisco Unity solution in the production environment prior to its acutal deployment.

Checking for software versions that are newer than those previously tested or approved reduces your risk of running into known problems.

Run the solution through a pre-defined comprehensive test plan to verify that all things work as expected.

Monitoring during the staging process allows you:

a) uncover any problems in the solutoin
b) bring support teams up to speed on how to maintain Unity

Advantages of allowing subscribers to access Unity during staging:

a) they can set up their new voicemail boxes
b) they can begin playing with Unity to become familiar with it
