Tranlation Rule on calls CUCM to CME

One of our clients has been deploying CME sites and connecting them back to their CUCM corporate using simple VOIP dial peers.

!
dial-peer voice 2001 voip
 destination-pattern 2...
 session target ipv4:10.1.1.1
 codec g711ulaw
!

The need arose to set a translation rule to change the area code of the calls going into the CME site from the corporate office running CME. We found it difficult at first to identify the incoming dial peer since the connections were over IP not T1s or E1s. No voice ports were present to apply the translation profile directly. After some research we applied the translation profile to the outgoing dial peer after making it the incoming dial peer as well with the incoming-called number command. The example below is only for illustration purposes and shows a translation from area code 800 to 760 as an example.

!
voice translation-rule 1
 rule 1 /^1800\(.*\)/ /1760\1/
!
voice translation-profile CHANGEto1800
 translate called 1
!
dial-peer voice 2001 voip
 translation-profile incoming CHANGEto1800
 destination-pattern 2...
 session target ipv4:10.1.1.1
 incoming called-number .T
 codec g711ulaw
!

This made it possible to match the dial peer 2001 as the incoming dial-peer and apply the translation-profile.
