The need arose to set a translation rule to change the area code of the calls going into the CME site from the corporate office running CME. We found it difficult at first to identify the incoming dial peer since the connections were over IP not T1s or E1s. No voice ports were present to apply the translation profile directly. After some research we applied the translation profile to the outgoing dial peer after making it the incoming dial peer as well with the incoming-called number command. The example below is only for illustration purposes and shows a translation from area code 800 to 760 as an example.
