When Cisco Unity 4.x is installed, the CUICA message store configuration wizard dialog box is missing

Core Issue

While installing voice mail only for Cisco Unity 4.03 on a new server, it goes through the whole install smoothly.

There no errors are upon reboot, but the splash screen (the Cisco Unity Installation and Configuration Assistant (CUICA) wizard dialog box) that prompts you for the remaining installation components, such as licensing and password hardening, never comes up. AV services are not installed. The user cannot continue the installation.

Resolution

From Cisco Unity CD 1, browse to the CUICA folder and double click on the ConfigurationAssistanceSetup.vbs file. This brings up the missing wizard.

You may get the option to run the DbWalker and the DiRT backup, since CiscoUnity is installed. Uninstall Cisco Unity with the uninstall tool located in Download Uninstall Utility.

This is a quick uninstallation of Cisco Unity.  It leaves your Exchange, Active Directory (AD), DC, GC, and Structured Query Language (SQL) in place.  Uninstall only the Cisco Unity software.

In AD, make sure to remove the Default#### file located in the Unity\Locations container. To view this folder, click on View > Advanced Features.
